SIBL Holds workshop on Basel-II Accord

A workshop on Basel-II Accounthg system was organised for the executives and officers of SIBL at the Training Institute of the bank in Dhaka on 10 May, 2006. The workshop was presented by Credit Rating Information and Services Ltd(CRISL).

Major Dr. Md. Rezaul Haque(retd), Chairman of the bank was present as cheif guest and inaugurated the workshop. Vice Chairman of the bank Alhaj Nasiruddin was present as special guest. Managing Director Mr. K. M. Ashaduzzaman, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Abu Sadek Md. Sohel, Head of Departments in Head Office of the Bank and its 24(twenty four) Branch Managers attended the Workshop, while Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of CRISL presented the key notepaper.

SIBL's Chairman Major Dr. Reza said that this workshop is a timely initiative to train SIBL officers to enrich their khowledge about the International Accounting System. Moreever SIBL Vice Chairman, Managing Director & Deputy Managing Director also outlined different aspects & functions of BASEL - II in the workshop

SIBL Chairman Mr. Major Dr. Md. Rezaul Haque (Retd) said that SIBL as a joint venture Shariah based Bank, SIBL has defined its operation in three different sectors -i.e. Formal, Non-formal & Voluntary. While Formal sector deals in full-fledge commercial activities as a scheduled Bank, Non-formal sector aims at 'Empowering Family'- by creating envestment opportunities to Micro and SMEs client and Voluntary Sector deals in Cash Waqf Certificate Scheme -an innovation financial product to do welfare to the mankind.

Mr. Md. Rezaul asked the bank executives and officers to equipe themselves with proper training and use it in their day-to-day operations.
